Apartment Tour 1/2

The top two picture are of the common room. This area is pretty big and can host a nice poker game or two.

The kitchen has all your normal things like a refrigerator, pantry, dish washer, stove, oven, but no microwave. Toasters, coffee pot, and electric tea maker are old and need replacing. I bought new dishes because the old dishes aren't very good either.

The washer and drier are an unexpected surprise. Though the washer seemed to be broken on first arrival, its filter was just clogged. The filter has been cleaned and the washer has been drained and we are operational.

My upstairs bathroom is split into two sections. This section is the shower, sink, and towel warmer (another surprise). the other section is the toilet and a small sink.
For those of you considering Optiver, let me outline some pros and cons:
Pro - A maid comes every Monday, but only cleans the common area and kitchen (dishes?).
Con - If something is broken (like a clogged sink), facilities response time is variable. Some say it is pretty terrible. It took about 4 days to get the bottom bathroom bathtub unclogged.
Pro - Electricity, water, gas, cable, and internet is paid for. They provide a TV and a wireless router. They also provide a fast computer with an internet connection in the common room. This is great just in case yours stops working.
Con - The router seems to be pretty old (but works decently) and TV doesn't work at all. I will post if the facilities department intends to replace it.
Pro - There is a lot of space and a lot of light (this is much more true of the upstairs than the downstairs). There are many big closets and you could fit a couple of people stuff here easily.

News
On September 17th, my cousin Lonya is going to come stay with me. Optiver provides extra mattresses and also has large beds (queen?). I anticipate the stay will be very comfortable for him.

I am going to post a detailed description of my room later today because this part needs explaining and is awesome.
